Privacy Policy
Last Updated: February 2026
RapidTools takes a fundamentally different approach to privacy. While most online tools upload your files to their servers for processing, we believe your documents are yours aloneβthey should never leave your device unless you explicitly send them somewhere.
π Our Privacy Guarantee: Zero Uploads
Every single tool and calculator on RapidTools operates with 100% client-side processing.
What this means for you:
- Your files never leave your browser β All processing happens on your device using JavaScript
- We never see your content β Not the file names, not the contents, not the metadata
- We can't share what we don't have β Since we never receive your files, we cannot share them with anyone
- No data breaches possible β You can't leak data that was never collected in the first place
- Works offline β Many tools function even without internet connection (after initial page load)
1. Client-Side Processing Explained CORE FEATURE
This is the foundation of our privacy commitment and what makes RapidTools fundamentally different from competitors.
How It Works
When you use any RapidTools tool (PDF merger, compressor, converter, etc.) or calculator:
- Your browser downloads the tool code once (JavaScript files)
- You select your file(s) from your device using standard file picker
- Processing happens entirely in your browser using your device's CPU and memory
- Result is generated locally and offered for download directly from your browser
- No network transmission of your file data occurs (except downloading the tool itself)
Technical Implementation
We use industry-standard JavaScript libraries like PDF-lib, JSZip, and browser-native APIs to manipulate files entirely within your browser environment. Your files are read into browser memory, processed, and the result is written back to browser memory before downloadβat no point are they transmitted to our servers or any external service.

You can process sensitive files with confidence knowing they remain exclusively on your device.
2. What Data We Do and Don't Collect TRANSPARENCY
What We DON'T Collect
The following data is never collected, stored, or transmitted when you use RapidTools:
- Your files β PDFs, images, documents, or any other files you process
- File names β The names of files you select or create
- File contents β Text, images, metadata, or any content within your files
- File metadata β Creation dates, author information, file properties
- Processing parameters β Compression levels, page selections, conversion settings
- Personal information β Names, email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses
- Account data β We don't require accounts, so we don't collect usernames, passwords, or profiles
- Payment information β RapidTools is free, so no credit cards or payment data
What We DO Collect
We collect minimal, anonymous data to understand how our website is used and to improve our tools:
Website Analytics Data
- Page views β Which pages you visit on RapidTools
- Time on page β How long you spend on each page
- Referring source β Where you came from (search engine, direct link, etc.)
- Device type β Desktop, mobile, tablet (for responsive design)
- Browser type β Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc. (for compatibility testing)
- Geographic location β Country/region only (based on IP address, not precise location)
- Screen resolution β To optimize layout for different devices
Important: This analytics data is aggregated and anonymous. We cannot identify individual users or link usage patterns to specific people.
3. Analytics & Website Usage Data GOOGLE ANALYTICS
Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
We use Google Analytics 4 to collect website usage statistics. This is a third-party analytics service provided by Google LLC.
What Google Analytics Collects:
- Anonymous usage data (page views, sessions, bounce rate)
- Device and browser information (for compatibility insights)
- General geographic location (country/region, not street address)
- Referral source (where visitors come from)
What Google Analytics Does NOT See:
- Your files or file contents β Not transmitted to Google
- File names or processing settings β Not logged by analytics
- Personal identification β Analytics is configured for anonymous data collection
Google Analytics operates through cookies (see section 4 below). You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by:
- Using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on
- Enabling "Do Not Track" in your browser settings
- Using browser privacy extensions that block analytics scripts
- Blocking third-party cookies in browser settings
For more information on how Google uses data, see Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies & Local Storage OPTIONAL
Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. RapidTools may use cookies for:
Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics)
- Purpose: Track website usage and visitor behavior
- Duration: Varies (session cookies and persistent cookies up to 2 years)
- Opt-out: Block third-party cookies or use Google's opt-out add-on
Local Storage
Local Storage is a browser feature that allows websites to save data directly in your browser (similar to cookies but with more storage space).
How We Use Local Storage:
- User preferences β Saving your preferred compression levels, page layouts, or theme preferences
- Tool settings β Remembering your last-used settings for convenience
- No file storage β We do NOT store your actual files in Local Storage
Managing Local Storage:
You can clear Local Storage at any time:
- Chrome: Settings β Privacy and security β Clear browsing data β Cookies and site data
- Firefox: Settings β Privacy & Security β Cookies and Site Data β Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences β Privacy β Manage Website Data β Remove All
- Edge: Settings β Privacy, search, and services β Clear browsing data
Note on File Processing: When you process files with RapidTools, your files are loaded into browser memory (RAM) temporarily, NOT into Local Storage or cookies. Browser memory is automatically cleared when you close the tab or navigate awayβyour files are never permanently stored.
5. Third-Party Services
Services We Use
RapidTools integrates with the following third-party services:
Google Analytics 4
- Purpose: Website usage analytics
- Data shared: Anonymous page view data, device info, geographic region
- Privacy policy: Google Privacy Policy
Content Delivery Networks (CDNs)
We may use CDNs to deliver JavaScript libraries and fonts faster. CDNs are servers that cache and deliver website resources. Common CDNs we may use include:
- jsDelivr or cdnjs β For JavaScript libraries (PDF-lib, JSZip)
- Google Fonts or self-hosted fonts β For typography
Important: CDNs deliver only the tool code (JavaScript), never your files. Your file data never touches CDN servers.
Hosting Provider
- Purpose: Website hosting and delivery
- Access to user files: Noneβfiles are never uploaded to hosting servers
- Server logs: May contain IP addresses, page requests, and timestamps (standard web server logging)
Third-Party Links
RapidTools may contain links to external websites (e.g., documentation, tool libraries, resources). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party sites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing any personal information.
6. Data Security & Browser Safety
HTTPS Encryption
RapidTools is served over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption). This means:
- The connection between your browser and our website is encrypted
- Third parties cannot intercept or view the pages you visit on RapidTools
- Your browser verifies the authenticity of our website (prevents impersonation)
Browser-Based Security
Since all file processing happens in your browser, your files are protected by your browser's built-in security features:
- Sandboxing β Browser isolates web pages from your operating system
- Same-origin policy β Prevents unauthorized access to your files by other websites
- Memory isolation β Your files in browser memory cannot be accessed by other tabs or processes
No Account, No Breach
RapidTools does not require user accounts. This means:
- No passwords to manage or be stolen
- No user databases that could be breached
- No personal information stored that could be leaked
Best Practice Recommendation: For maximum privacy when processing highly sensitive documents, consider using RapidTools in an incognito/private browsing window. This ensures no cookies, cache, or browsing history is retained after you close the window.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Data We Hold About You
The answer is: Almost nothing. Since we use client-side processing and don't require accounts:
- We don't have your files or file data
- We don't have your personal information
- We only have anonymous analytics data that cannot identify you individually
Your Rights
Even though we collect minimal data, you have the following rights:
Right to Access
You can request information about what data we hold about you. Given our client-side architecture, the answer will typically be "none" beyond anonymous analytics.
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")
You can request deletion of your data. However, since we don't collect personal data or files, there is typically nothing to delete.
Right to Object to Processing
You can object to analytics tracking by:
- Blocking cookies in your browser
- Using Google Analytics opt-out tools
- Enabling "Do Not Track" signals
Right to Data Portability
Since we don't store your files or personal data, there is no data to export or port to another service.
Exercising Your Rights
To exercise any privacy rights or ask questions about your data, contact us (see section 11 below).
8. Children's Privacy
RapidTools is a general-purpose tool suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction).
Since our tools require no registration and process files client-side, children can use RapidTools safely without providing any personal information.
Parents and guardians: If you believe your child has somehow provided personal information to us (which would be unusual given our no-account model), please contact us and we will promptly address the issue.
9. International Users WORLDWIDE
Global Accessibility
RapidTools is accessible to users worldwide. Our client-side processing architecture provides strong privacy protection regardless of your location because:
- Your files never leave your device β No cross-border data transfers occur
- No data residency concerns β Your data stays in your country (on your device)
- Compliance is simpler β Most privacy laws (GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA) don't apply to data that's never collected
Specific Privacy Frameworks

Server Location
Our website is hosted on servers that may be located in various countries. However, your files never reach our servers, so server location is irrelevant to file privacy.
Anonymous analytics data (page views, device types) may be processed by Google Analytics servers, which are located globally. See Google's Privacy Policy for details on their data processing locations.

π Our Privacy Commitment to You
RapidTools was built on a simple principle: Your files are yours, and they should stay that way.
By choosing client-side processing over the easier server-side approach, we've made a conscious decision to prioritize your privacy above all else. We can't see your files, we can't accidentally leak them, and we can't be compelled to hand them over to third partiesβbecause we simply never have them.
This is privacy by design, not privacy by policy. And we're committed to keeping it that way.
